The weather had forced him to sleep underground again. It was warmer and safer, but his tree didn't provoke the nightmares like going to earth did. Well, he wouldn't call them nightmares. Waking up, that was the real nightmare, the dreams just made it worse. ...
Some music I listened to while working on this, to capture the mood I was trying to set: [link] ...
A larger acrylic painting. Didn't turn out too badly I think. Some things I could've worked harder on, but I've been a bit anxious to get started on another picture, and wanted to finish this first. Jumped on the skele-fox bandwagon, because I realized how fun they are to draw.
This is a very intriguing piece. The subjects are very intimate and interact well with each other. The small details in the painting, such as the fur and whiskers on the fox and teeth on the skeleton make the piece much more life like. One of the most impressive things in this painting is that the skeleton is easily idetifiable as canine. The shattered vertibrae was a nice touch to indicate how the fox had died. This piece conveys emotion very well and has a very sad feeling to it. It's nice to see some good acrylic artwork on DA.
i have seen so many dark fox images these days where shadows seem to be the key factor but here the beauty in the colours and the lack of darkness make it so much more stunning, it maybe a dance to the end but i have a felling its a more more warmer and happier dance where the shadows won't come into play.... sorry if i make no sense at all...
